Support for the development of teenagers’ and young people’s potential by inclusive arts practice (2017-2018)

The Private Charitable Fund “Azamat Aleuety” with the support of the Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy has implemented the project Support for the development of teenagers’ and young people’s potential by inclusive arts practice. The main goal of the project includes propaganda and promotion of folk art in the process of building the inclusive community of children, teenagers and young people with normative development and ones with special educational needs.
The project has been implemented with the joint participation of people with disabilities and teachers, specialists, motivated people (legal representatives and parents, members of the families and close relatives, and teachers from the special educational organizations), who are involved in the education of young people with disabilities. Students of schools and universities have also been involved in the project, and it gave a boost for the development of inclusive arts practice and personal potential of each participant of the project. The joint study of folk art and folk crafts, introduction to the art of singing and learning to play the dombra, as well as formation of occupational skills and development of creativity by making handmade articles and various handicrafts related to ethnography contributed to the propaganda and promotion of the environmental consciousness and healthy lifestyle, the development of patriotism and national identity of children, teenagers and young people of Almaty city and Almaty region. Not only young people with disabilities got interested in the process of making handicrafts related to ethnography, but also their parents, students of colleges and universities, as it made them involved in the joint activities, that promote tolerant attitude and good intentions of future professionals, and common understanding among the participants of the master classes and folk applied art groups.
